Baid’s father was the primary provider for the family, and he had a lot of mouths to feed. He first understood the difference between those who were born with a silver spoon and those who were not until he was 13 years old. Being one of the latter, he looked deeper into a shared love of tea that was visible at home and in the many tea shops that were open all day and saw a chance right in front of him.
In Kishanganj, Bihar, he claims, “Even as a tea vendor at train stations and bus stops, I never interrupted my flight of dreams. In my early days, I sold tea, but the keen observer in me noticed the relationship tea had with individuals and how it radically altered their day or mood. I was motivated to deepen this relationship and learn more about tea. This lovely journey, which turned my nebulous ideas into a living reality, started with a straightforward and obvious intention.
In order to sell CTC teas to the tea shops, a young Baid would purchase them from the neighbourhood wholesalers. After selling tea for a while, he began working at Bihar’s first tea factory. After a few years of hard labour, he was promoted to the position of working partner at the plant, and after a couple more years, he leased his first tea factory through PPP.
He began working on his ideal project, Chai Chun, after taking on a number of other tea manufacturers. He founded Chai Chun to provide tea enthusiasts with a fascinating selection of teas to pick from because he was committed to learning more about tea and fostering the relationship between those who consume it and those who grow it. It was created as India’s first boutique-style tea shop, offering patrons a chance to browse more than 165 mixes of excellent teas obtained from the top estates in the nation. It offers tea in all of its different flavours, scents, and colours and is sourced from India’s finest tea gardens.
